With an annual passenger volume of 50 million (2010) and a maximum capacity of 70 million, Barajas Airport in Madrid is the second largest airport in Europe and the twelfth largest airport worldwide. The expansion of Terminal 4 in 2006 added 65 new boarding gates – the terminal area trebled in size. The airport employs around 30,000 people.


Beijing Airport

Measured by capacity this airport with over 73 million flight passengers per year is the largest of its kind in Asia and the second largest in the world. Located 29 kilometers away from downtown Beijing this impressive building is lit with the Chinese national colors at night.
